As the temperatures in Colorado Springs, Denver and the surrounding areas drop, flu season is right at home and ready to peak! Don’t get caught unprepared. With the holidays coming up sickness is never something we want to deal with and can get in the way of our daily routines! Here are a few health tips on how to avoid sickness!

– Wash your hands: Wash your hands more often( especially when in a public area) with soap and water or  an alcohol-based hand rub like hand sanitizer.

– Avoid touching your face: eyes, nose, or mouth, germs are bound to find a way in! Germs spread twice as fast when body fluids are transfered.

– Try to avoid sickness: avoid  close contact with others who are sick or getting over sickness.

– Good health habits;  Get plenty of sleep, exercise. Try to manage your stress, and drink plenty of fluids(water is your best friend), eat healthy food.

– Properly dispose of germs; cover your nose/mouth with a tissue when you sneeze or cough. Dispose of the tissue in the trash after use.

– If you are sick with flu-like symptoms;  avoid going out, try to stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone.

** If your home has experienced recent flooding, have an expert check for mold. Mold alone will cause sickness!
